Part 5: Wild Camping in Germany – Kalmit – Kirrweiler

The night was spent pleasantly 600 metres above the town Sankt Martin, on mount Kalmit. Unfortunately, we had no time to visit the Kalmithaus, a guest house on top of the mountain, which provides an excellent view over the region. We packed our stuff together, had some breakfast and left the best tent place on our tour in order to catch the train from Maikammer-Kirrweiler.

From Maikammer-Kirrweiler station we took the train to Karlsruhe, where we spent some time, had lunch and continued by train to Stuttgart. There we checked-in in a hotel near the main train station. During that whole day we had nice weather and could enjoy walking the Königstraße and do some shopping.

Nice weather everywhere

On our trekking tour in the Palatinate Forest, we forgot the fact that the football World Cup was going on. In Stuttgart, we were reminded of that by the numerous football fans of Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who supported their teams on the streets.

The next day, relaxed, fresh and impressed by this part of Germany, we packed our stuff one last time and took a train from the main train station to Stuttgart airport.
